What Is Hidden Under Moscow Flowebeds

Some flowerbeds in Moscow guard amazing secrets. The photograph above has been taken 48 underground under one of the flowerbeds of the city.

Enormous money was poured into all these underground complexes for J. Stalin but today they lost their significance and their current condition leaves much to be desired. Abandonment, darkness, dust… It is only people who sacrificed their health and time to build these constructions who still keep some of their secrets in memory.

The only place of this kind which managed to rise from the ashes is object #42 in Taganka which has been turned into a museum of the cold war. Below is a story of another underground facility, similar to object #42 but with a much sadder fate…


The flowerbed described above looks like a regular flowerbed. Its only difference was the mine shaft used to build a secret bunker deep underground to protect the government in case of a nuclear conflict. This place would also have all necessary communications which were constructed to supply the bunker with electricity, air, etc. Today you won’t find any of it.
It took them several days to dig out the flowerbed and move aside the large concrete plate blocking the entrance to the underground bunker. It will take you 30 minutes to go down.
In the photograph you can see what has left after the secret mine shaft which is abandoned today but still remains secret. On the left, there are pipes which were used to provide the bunker’s diesel power station with diesel fuel and oil. On the right, there are air pipes.
