Genocide Victims Museum

The museum is very interesting. It is situated in the building, which used to be the Committee for State Security of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic till 1991. The main part of the exposition is former KGB prison. You can get into every ward and feel the spirit of the death machine of that time on your own skin.

Preliminary Detention Cell.
A room for legislative questioning.
A twin-”bedded” ward.
And a four-”bedded” one.
There are no loos in the wards – only one common toilet room.
A punishment cell with total space less than 4 square meters, a plank-bed, a backless stool…
… and a hole.
A ward for the suppression of the assaultive.
The walls are all soft.
A ward for the interrogation under torture. Was filled with water.
A library.
Attendants room.
On the walls of the firing ward there are still bullet holes.
Different things which belonged to prisoners.
Young KGB Serviceman’s Instruction Booklet.
Prisoners’ form.
Prisoners’ things.
A stamp for statements.
Another one.
Committee for State Security of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic.
